Crespi Bonsai is a real eastern spot just a few miles from Milan: opened in 1991 was the first permanent museum in the world dedicated to bonsai.

The structure of the Crespi Bonsai Museum combines natural materials (slate, barge stone) with concrete and steel, highlighting the magnificent specimens made by the most famous Japanese masters, such as the millennium Ficus retusa Linn. In addition to the collection, consisting of about two hundred works, there are three Japanese garden styles, all designed by Luigi Crespi.
